July's Last Pour: Looking Ahead to August at The Durst House

There’s always something special about the last weekend of July.
The excitement of summer is still in full swing, but if you look closely, you can see the season beginning to shift. The orchard is bursting with ripe peaches, the gardens are alive with butterflies and busy pollinators, and each morning seems to bring another small discovery around the estate.

It's a reminder that life at Durst isn't measured only by the wines we pour or the events on the calendar. It's measured by the changing seasons, the harvests they bring, and the little moments that often go unnoticed.
As we prepare to turn the calendar to August, there's plenty happening behind the scenes—and we can't wait to share it with you.
The Host's Notebook: A Taste of Summer
One of the greatest joys of this time of year is watching the orchard come to life.
Our peach trees are overflowing, and Chef April has been putting the season's harvest to good use. Fresh peaches are making their way into some of her favorite house-made desserts, celebrating summer at its sweetest.

The tasting room has embraced the harvest, too. You'll find those same peaches making appearances in refreshing seasonal cocktails that taste like summer in a glass.
It's one of the things we love most about this season. Ingredients don't have to travel far when they're growing just steps away.
From the Cellar: Keeping Cool
Let's be honest... it's going to be a warm one.
When the Central Valley turns up the heat, we have just the thing.

Our rotating wine slushies have become a summertime favorite, and every batch offers something a little different. Whether it's bright, citrusy, berry-forward, or inspired by the fruit of the season, they're the perfect way to cool down while enjoying an afternoon at the winery.
Be sure to ask what's spinning this weekend—you never know what flavor you'll find.
Around the Estate: Nature's Little Neighbors

One of our favorite traditions each summer has nothing to do with wine.
If you notice an orange cone in the parking lot, it's there for a very important reason.
Hidden among the gravel is a Killdeer nest, carefully protected so this little family can safely raise their young. Killdeer are remarkable birds, choosing open ground instead of trees for their nests and relying on their natural camouflage to keep their eggs safe.

As you stroll around the estate this weekend, keep your eyes open. Baby birds are beginning to explore the property, butterflies drift through the gardens, and every walk offers something new to discover.
Sometimes the most memorable part of a visit isn't what you planned to see.
Looking Ahead: A Luau at The Durst House
The countdown is on!
On Saturday, August 22, we'll welcome our Wine Club members for our annual Wine Club Pick-Up Luau.

We're bringing a taste of the islands to Durst with Hawaiian-inspired cuisine crafted by Chef Bernard, live entertainment, refreshing summer wines, frozen wine slushies, and an evening filled with great food, laughter, and community.
If you're a Wine Club member, keep an eye on your inbox for event details and pick-up information.
Not a member yet? There's never been a better time to become part of the Durst family.

Whether you're joining us for live music, lunch with friends, or simply a quiet afternoon with a glass of wine, we'd love to spend the last weekend of July with you.
As one season gently gives way to the next, we're grateful for every guest who chooses to make Durst part of their summer story.
The Guest Book
Summer memories are often made in the simplest moments.
Maybe it's sharing a pizza with friends, discovering a new favorite wine, cooling off with a wine slushie, or spotting a baby bird on a walk through the estate.

We'd love to know...
